Product Guides & Reviews

The best vacuum cleaner depends on the job — a cordless stick vacuum for daily spills and quick pickups, a wet dry vacuum to actually wash hard floors, or a budget pick for a small space. This Best Of names one winner per type, so you can match the vacuum to how you actually clean instead of comparing separate roundups. Looking for the best vacuum cleaner? These are the top upright, stick and canister models ranked by Reddit community reviews — every household vacuum in our database, sorted by how strongly real owners recommend it. The ranking uses the lower bound of the confidence interval, so a model with three glowing comments can't outrank one with a hundred, and the sample size sits next to every score. No sponsored placement, just community sentiment. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases at no cost to you – it keeps the site running.

A cordless stick vacuum is the machine you actually reach for on a weekday — light, grab-and-go, and now capable enough to replace an upright for most homes. This roundup compares the best cordless stick vacuum picks: a premium auto-empty model, an anti-tangle pick for pet hair, a budget brand-name stick and a high-suction value option. A wet dry vacuum vacuums and washes hard floors in one pass, so dirty water ends up in a tank instead of smeared across the floor like a traditional mop. This roundup compares the best wet dry vacuum picks: a 185°F hot-water flagship, an everyday value mop, a 100°C deep-clean specialist and a compact pick for apartments. A canister vacuum keeps the motor off the floor, so you get strong suction with a light wand that reaches under furniture, up stairs and along baseboards without dragging an upright around. This roundup compares the best canister vacuum picks: a German-built overall winner, a pet-hair specialist with a motorized brush, the bagless convenience choice and a high-suction value option.
